A request for information for psychology practitioners.?

Is it ethical to provide free psychology services as a way to start working as self-employed psychologist (trying to create a clientele)? Of course the trait of services must be the same as if they be paid but are here any other drawbacks?A request for information for psychology practitioners.?
The APA ethics code doesn't read aloud that you can't work for free (I've done it for the past 3 years as an intern). However, within are some rules to follow. You will have to set up a financial contract and you can't suddenly start charging or make higher your fees when you have a full client nouns. You also need to be cautious about barter (see the ethics code).
